6 Reasons Staying Put Isn’t All Bad
Being a stick in the mud, and living in the same house for more than twenty years is sometimes seen as being boring, but I disagree!
I have lived in the same region, the same house even for over thirty years, and am so happy with the decision to stay here. I was born and brought up in the suburbs, and met and married my husband in the suburbs too.
But after showing purebred Schnauzers for several years, and venturing into the world of dog breeding, we both knew we would have to move out of the suburbs, and out into the country. So we looked for and purchased a new home, leaving behind a sweet little cottage, close enough to work to ride our bikes to, for a rather run down and not particularly attractive home in a small township that already had dog kennels waiting for us and our dogs.
It was a bit of a culture shock to suddenly live in the middle of paddocks, and people who talked slow, and always seemed to look at us like we were intruders. I think we both felt like intruders at first, for sure, but the dogs and puppies meant we had plenty to do, the dog shows kept happening, with many of our dog show friends now living closer to our new home.
