Being Outside At My Place

Having a spot at my home that connects me with Nature, takes me out of the boring humdrum aspects of life truly is a great way to find inspiration.

When I’m outside, I may remember things that have happened out there, in the 35 years we’ve lived out in the country. The puppies we bred, the child we had, the plants that have grown there, tended by us.

The puppy breeding no longer happens, we’ve moved right away from the dog exhibiting world that once seemed overwhelmingly important. How could I have thought winning a blue ribbon could be more important than picking home grown vegetables and flowers that delight my senses?!

This morning I have hung out a new and newly washed sheet, I’ve plucked a rose petal from one of our roses growing, and smelt the glorious fragrance of it, delightful!

I’ve seen a Sparrow fluffing up its feathers, to try to get warmer? Maybe. It was certainly a brisk Autumn morning out there. I was warmed by my clothing, and also by the way my mind was thinking, remembering, and finding joy in all I came across outside.

I also picked a leaf from our Kale plants growing in the vegetable patch, glad to do so, after this morning reading more about the benefits of this undervalued vegetable. I ate that tender leaf as I contined strolling around the garden, looking and things, seeing…
