Being The Self You Want To Believe In
We all have ideals, images of a self better than the one we currently are. Or if we don’t have that yet, it is bound to come to you, if and when you have achieved a high enough level of being.
As the trees never stop reaching for the sky, people too, can go on reaching for that mythical ‘sky’ — the place and time when we have reached our best possible person, doing and being the highest and best we can be.
This reaching though sometimes is buried underneath the day to day scrabbling for more and more ‘stuff’. The very best new whatever it is, that ‘everybody’ wants right now, even though they don’t truly need it.
Wants are not needs
We all need to eat, we need shelter, we need a sense of being a part of our community (whatever that means to us), and we need a sense of purpose in our life. We may not realise the truth of this, final two needs, but if you consider a wolf, they need a pack to be a part of, to mate (and pass on their genes), and get their food more easily.
A wolf doesn’t try to get what isn’t in their nature to get, wolves don’t try to fly like an eagle, they run, and run, to get what they need.
