Better Health Shouldn’t Send You Broke
I have a chronic illness, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and while I suffer from time to time because of this illness, I’m actually doing quite well …
So I am living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and actually living quite a good life, overall. I am now taking medication that is working well, and keeping any relapses away, so I am able to get about doing the things I want to do, when I want to do them.
I am aware now, after knowing of having MS since I was diagnosed in 2010, that having an illness, and suffering with it don’t necessarily go hand in hand. I have MS, but suffering? No, not me.
I know I live an incredibly fortunate life, one where I can limit any stresses that would add to any suffering MS can bring. I have certainly had times when my mobility was impacted, and I needed aids to assist me with walking.
The two walking sticks I’m holding up, Mick the Stick, and Jane the Cane, are no longer needed, and while I appreciate them for the help they gave at the time, I am glad I no longer need them, unless I fall over!
Unfortunately, the falling over, which many people with MS suffer with still happens more than with ‘normal’ people. Statistically, a person with MS is more likely to fall over in the period of a year, than the average person without it.
