I am a 61 year old woman, 152cm in height, and with a weight usually in the range 46.5 to 47.7kg. I want it to be at the lower end of this range, but never mind, I am at a very healthy weight.

A relavant point about me is that I actually weigh myself every morning, first thing, before eating or drinking anything. I also aim at walking around 2km or more every day …

And when I have weighed myself, and am eating my breakfast, I writing down the weigh in result, and often write a note, brief or lengthier, about that number the bathroom scales gave me.

The piece below is a lengthier than usual one, because I’d already decided it was going to be a major part of an article for Medium, and so it is!

“47.5kg Well it could have been worse …

What else is there to say, other than this:

I would have preferred the number to have been lower.

But it wasn’t — it was what it was, and while I may wish for it to have been a lower weight, it wasn’t.

I understand why my weight was up on the number from my weigh inches day before, and I know what needs to be done to reach that desired lower number.

And at my age, and height, my current weight is still in the lower part of my ideal weight (according to various Australian Health bodies, including the Australian Department of Health).
