I Love Book Launches!

Whether the book being launched is s book I wrote, or someone else’s book, I love book launches!

This is my book:

and it’s going to be launched on this coming Sunday. It certainly isn’t my first book to be launched, but it may be my best book, so far.

I hope there are people at my book launch who like what they hear, and want to buy a copy of the book! Having people hearing a poet read their own work, if they do a good job, is always a good thing, and I know I’m quite good at reading poetry.

After all, I’ve been involved in running a monthly poetry reading for quite a few years now, and have attended workshops about presenting your poetry to an audience, and have tried to take on all of the points taught.

I read with passion/emotion. I don’t rush my words, I pause as and when appropriate — I give my words the respect I feel they deserve, and expect my audience will do the same.

The best thing about this particular book launch, or one thing anyway, is that I am completely familiar with the event, the venue, and I will know most of the people present.

I hope there will be a good number of people present, but if there are only eight or so, I will still do my very best to make sure they enjoy being there with me!
