I Went Shopping Today, And Enjoyed Myself, A Lot!

So what, you may say, I went shopping too, and it was a chore I didn’t particularly enjoy that much …

If that’s how it is for you, I’m sorry. Shopping is a thing that must be done, to get the things we all need to survive. There are a variety of ways to ‘do the shopping’, these days.

You can do it the way my husband and I did it today — Drive in the car to the favoured shopping centre, get a trolley and walk around the supermarket picking the things on the shopping list.

Then you take it all in the trolley to a cashier, pay the money rung up on the till, and then you take it home, put it all away, and the job is done. This is usually a job done by my husband alone, but he asked me this morning if I might like to come along too, and I said yes.

And so it happened! I was there, the trolley got ‘filled’, with me remembering to grab the one shopping item I particularly needed, that may not have been written on the list.

I hadn’t actually mentioned to my husband I needed this item, which was rolled oats, so it would have been my fault if he hadn’t bought any rolled oats, which I have for breakfast almost every day.

After our goods were paid for, we travelled home, and I actually did some of the putting away of what we’d bought. It felt…
