Impress Yourself!

We all have ideas and thoughts about our lives, and how they might be better, if this, or that, or the other. Sometimes we might come up with a goal, to impress someone — a coach, and employer, family member, friend, or who knows else.

But the most important to impress, is to do something good, and impress yourself! You’re the expert in who you are, and what you’re capable of, after all. Or if you don’t agree with that, I think you’re wrong.

It is amazing the way people can lift up and do amazing things, when they’re put to the test and have to step up and do something amazing, in terms of strength, endurance, etc.

Ordinary people do extraordinary things, and while their efforts aren’t always headline news, I think each of us should in fact put our efforts up in bright lights, and in the headlines of our personal news, in our own heads at least, and congratulate ourselves for our great efforts and achievements!

The area where I’ll be walking doesn’t look like this one, and I won’t be waling on the road for most of it, just a bit perhaps closer to my place, where there’s far less traffic …

Even if nobody else knows about what you’ve done, if you’ve gone above and beyond the normal actions done, celebrate what you have done, and maybe give yourself a reward. You deserve it, yay to you! That’s what I think!

At the moment, I am congratulating myself for coming up with a challenge, to get fitter, and stronger, by walking further, and also for meeting my mini challenges I’ve set myself so I will be able to meet that ultimate challenge.

It involves walking to a particular place and then home again, and while the distance may not seem like that much to some people, I have a chronic illness, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), which limits my physical abilities somewhat, and I doubt I’ve actually walked the relevant distance for quite some time.

I’ve also suffered with some trips and falls in my life, which is common to people with MS, who,in general, are more likely to fall than most other people. I’d love to never fall over again, it hurts!

When I thought of this challenge, I used the S.M.A.R.T. goals template, and writing it all down, and then putting the news…
