I’ve been writing a bit recently about the creation of an Art Installation, one about a variety of things, but a most important thing is Rust, and the various metals used in our lives, in a number of ways.

Some metals rust easily, for instance Iron does, while others such as Aluminium don’t rust easily. I’ve been walking a lot lately, to keep fit (get fitter actually), walking with other people and/or with our dog Lenny, a Greyhound.

And when I’m walking, I’ll also be looking for bits and pieces of metal that are on the road, or pavement, pick them up, bring them home, and then put them on display.

My idea is that I will write a book about this project, which I consider is going to be useful for teaching, or reminding, people about the idea of recycling, and in addition, to the idea of reusing, and repurposing various things that may otherwise have been thrown away, as rubbish. So rust definitely started this project in my mind, but the more I think about it, the more the possible relevant ideas expand.

The project is the “Rust & Found” Art Installation. So Rusty things, and.or found things, or rusty things that have been found. The finding of items also applies to things in and around my home, and now I’m thinking about all of this (one could say obsessing about it, maybe!), well I’m remembering the various items my husband and I have bought over the years, sculptures and other things to put out in our garden to make things more…
