Leonard Cohen Is Dead — The Name Of My Upcoming Poetry Collection
When a poet gets an idea, and feels it is a good one, and there is the likelihood of other people being smitten with the results of such an idea, what does that poet do? They write a collection’s worth of poems to go with the idea, that’s what!
This idea came to me, and I felt the need to do something with it, and so I did!
The memory of the death of this man in the image, Leonard Cohen, unleashed an idea, and then a poem, and that poem went on to unleash the idea for a poetry collection, with the attention grabbing title of ‘Leonard Cohen Is Dead’.
A sad thing, but an inspirational thing to think further on, and so that is what I did, think, and create, because that is what poets do, they/we think about things and we create poems. And once we have created enough poems, we may go on and create an actual poetry collection, and once they’ve done that, they will try to get that collection published.
I am a South Australian poet, living near the town of Gawler, a rural new suburbia town, close enough to drive to easily. And this town has a hotel where my writing group holds our weekly writing group meetings, our monthly poetry readings, and our annual Festival of Words.
