Losing Weight For Better Health, Honest!

To get the best understanding of why my weight loss challenge is definitely for better health, primarily, here is a little information about me, and my current health ‘issues’. I am an older woman, approaching my 58th birthday in fact. And when I look into possible health problems that may bring me down, many of them for women are caused by a combination of older age, and being overweight.

So obviously, getting control over my weight seems to be a ‘good health’ issue that I should work on. My plan to meet this challenge over the past few months has been a combination of controlling calories, and doing more exercise, the old ‘do more and eat less’ method. The image above is from a friend, and is certainly not the kind of food I could eat a big slice of, not at the moment, no matter how good it looks!

So I’ve been consciously bring ‘extra steps’ into my life, walking for a purpose, and the purpose is to get fitter and healthier — could the be a better reason than that? I don’t think so, I have lots to do in my life still, and I can’t do that if I’m infirm, and unable to get around to ‘do stuff’.

It’s going well, and I’m happy to report I am now often walking a kilometre extra steps on most days. This is added onto the normal steps I may do, as a part of normal life. I’m feeling more…
