Secrets to a Good Life

Living a good life depends, to a large extent, in being able to actually see what good is. If you think a good life is having all of the new electronic goodies available to those who can afford them, you’re going to be constantly searching and snatching at the next new thing.

If you can find accept the truth of it, that the good things in life aren’t things at all, but are in fact moments, actions, beautiful things seen and appreciated, chats with interesting people (and the reality is that all people are interesting!).

Simple, sure, but beautiful too!

A good life will have moments of not so good ‘stuff’, because that is the nature of being alive — not every single thing that happens will be full of joyful bliss. And think about how tiring it would be if it were!

Having the quiet times, where nothing much at all is happening, that isn’t a thing to rail about, it is instead a thing to be grateful for. Such quiet times can lead to new thoughts and ideas, and so onto even better times in the future!

I have a sofa I sit on, when I’m home and not busy doing anything. This sofa is facing out family TV, and close to the kitchen and dining area. That’s good, but the even better thing, during the day, is that just over to my left is a window that faces onto our front yard, and the road that goes along where our place is.
