Some Thoughts About Our New Dog

Our new dog, Lenny, is an adult Greyhound, who has only recently stopped being a racing Greyhound, to become a pet Greyhound. He is a big beautiful bouncing ball of energy, or he is lying down and resting.

People always say to me, oh, Greyhounds are such lovely peaceful dogs, totally now how they’re thought to be. And while Lenny in his restful mode certainly is a lovely peaceful creature, boy, stand back when he’s in big and bouncing mode, or he might knock you over!

So far, the ‘knocking me over’ thing hasn’t happened, which is good. I hate falling over, and to have the falling over caused by this dog who seems to love living here with us, well that would be a terrible shame …

Falling over and I, know each other well. I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and people with MS tend to fall over more than the average person does, and boy, am I proof of that sad fact!

My worst fall was a few years ago, when I was walking around on the lawn in my back yard, and just fell over nothing at all, and broke my ankle! Ouch!

Since that fall, there’s only been one fall of note, when I fell over near our swimming pool landing half on the concrete, half on gravel, with one arm being damaged, and feeling like it may have been broken.
