Step By Step, I’m Inching Into My New Stand Up Self!

So today, I’ve been organising new gigs for my ‘character’ Nanna Carreau, and with luck, in that role, Nanna will manage to talk up my abilities as a writer, and sell some of my books!

If I can be relatable, funny, wise, and even funnier, as well as being a bit serious as needed, I can be fabulous, and every one at these new gigs will have a great time, and talk about Nanna Carreau, and me too!

I have my outfit for Nanna Carreau, an older woman than me, (much, much older), and as long as I can stay in character well enough, for long enough, people will love me!

Well I hope so anyway. This Stand Up Comedian thing, when you don’t have a booking agent as such, and you don’t really know what you’re doing, but you seem to be getting there, I say Hooray to me!

As long as I remember to look at my calendar on my phone, oh, and before that, remember to add the info to my phone, Nanna Carreau will get there, and talk to all of the lovely carers who’ll be there, waiting to hear from me!

Older woman, with glasses, wearing a green beanie.

If I do well in my first two gigs, for this Carers SA Australia group, there will be more to come, closer to home. And the more of my books I can sell, the lighter the load my poor little car/mobile book cupboard will have to carry!

I don’t look anywhere near as grumpy in real life, but Nanna Carreau has seen life at it’s worst, and she doesn’t like lots of it! I hope I can make it to Nanna Carreau’s age of nearly ninety, and still have my marbles more or less intact like she does!
