The Magical Number of One Hundred
I’ve been on Medium since April, joining up when a friend mentioned this new platform to share her writing on. I read some of what she’d written for this site, and I enjoyed reading it, and she could make some money from her writing! What writer wouldn’t be interested in learning more about that!
So I checked out Medium, and I joined up. And yes, I made some money too! Wow, insty teeny tiny bits of money, but I’m a poet, some making lots of money is unlikely to happen. If I wanted to make lots of money from my writing, I’d write in an entirely different genre. Erotica perhaps, or thrillers for instance.
But I’m not interested in those kinds of writing, I like writing little articles about things that have taken my atention, and for this purpose, Medium is perfect. I can write whatever I like to write, no need to stick to only one subject, or genre. I can write about pets, or gardening, or I could post a poem I’ve written, that I’d like other people to read.
This has all gone well enough, some money has arrived in my bank account, at the beginning of the month, and I seem to have attracted some followers, with the number of followers going up every month since I signed up. But I am yet to hit that number of 100 followers, and from what I’ve recently seen on Medium, having a hundred followers or more, seems to be the magical number of…
