The Next Stage For My Art Installation, Having an Opening
This Redbanks Rust & Found Art Installation has been my obsession since I began getting more serious about it in the middle of last year, and now it is going one step further!
Redbanks RUST & FOUND Art Installation
Around 600 individual items, from small to much larger, all rusty and/or found, and put on display for viewers to look at, and think about.
This Art Installation considers Recycling, Reusing, Repurposing and Reimaging items that may otherwise may be thrown away, adding to the rubbish heaps that are already too full.
While walking and finding items for this Art Installation display, I’ve also been picking up and properly disposing of litter. Such an action is simple enough to do when going for a walk, especially with plenty of rubbish bins provided for this purpose, as they certainly are at the Mallala Oval, and the lawn area in front of the Mallala Museum, both of which are regular walking places of mine (and our dog Lenny).
This project also touches on the concept of Road Safety, in that some of these objects making up this installation were found in the middle of roads not terribly far from the Installation. A car or motorbike diving over or swerving to miss some of these could easily have then run off the road, with tragic…
