There Are Ways With Words That Lead To Riches …
Writing a novel and having it published, that then goes on to become a bestseller, that is one way. Penning pithy little verses that are bought by big card makers, that is another way. Writing poetry collections that speak to the nation, in fact many nations is another possible way (this one works best if you’re famous for doing something else first).
Apparently, writing for online platforms, such as Medium.com, or Vocal.com, are other ways, but after my time on either of those sites, I am yet to see anything approaching ‘riches’. I realise the reason for that, I’m not ignorant about such things.
I’ve been using both of those sites to write whatever I want to write, in the hope that I’ll find people who like what I write, or like the same things that interest me, so we can connect, and comment about the tings of interest to us both. This is a rubbish way if one is wanting to make lots of money from writing online on the mentioned sites.
But I’ve enjoyed myself, and the idea of earning tiny little bits of money, that arrive in my bank account once a month seems hysterically funny to me! And I’ve wondered whether my sense of humour should take a good hard look at itself sometimes, and click into a more universally accepted comedic mindset instead, particularly if I ever attempt to become a stand up comic, as I’ve sometimes thought about.
