Thinking About Bees … I Love Them!
I’ve not really given that much thought to bees, but I know they work hard, to bring the pollen needed to feed the queen of the hive that is their home.
And the bees, as they gather that pollen, are also pollinating the plants growing the flowers with the pollen, and pollinated flowers grow fruit for us to eat, how good is that? Yes, really good!
At the moment, I am focused on the tomato plants I have growing my garden, there are five different heirloom tomato plants that were sold to me as a fundraiser for a community group that does good work, run by some people who are friends of mine, so I’m happy to support them, so I purchased the plants they were selling was a simple one.
My son has his own home, and garden, and he was happy to buy his own tomato plants as well, so I’ve been pleased to be able to see how well his own plants are going in his vegetable patch. Tomatoes are such a versatile and tasty vegetable, who wouldn’t want to grow their own, if they have the room, and a little bit of time to look after them!
I like home grown tomatoes too, and was happy with these tomato plants I purchased last season, so the decision to purchase . I recently took down the old tomato plants, which had stopped producing tomatoes. The remnant plant matter was put on a pile of greenery, with the idea of using the relevant bits and pieces as compost, if suitable.
It’s been fun watching these tomato plants grow, and then the yellow flowers growing, that I know…
