Do You Want a Better Life?
What does a ‘better’ life mean to you? More expensive things, a bigger house than others have, expensive clothes and a fancy car? If so, this article is probably not going to be of interest to you. I’m talking about better in quite different ways, being a morally and ethically better person is what I mean. To me it is the only ‘better’ than matters.
Something To Try
If you’re wondering about these things, and whether your life could be better, here’s a useful first step which I have tried myself, with interesting results. It is not a guaranteed definite winner as an exercise, but it may give clues as to the people in your life, and what their potential impacts may be.
So here it is:
Make a list of the people in your life, family, friends, and others. Mark each person as ‘Good’ ‘Bad’ or ‘Useful’.
Then write up all of the Good people, the Bad Ones and the Useful.
Some of the people can be in more than one list, if so, write a word, that explains to you why they are in each list. For example you may put down a workmate who has been fun to be with, but who is also competing for the same jobs you are … we write their name, followed by ‘fun/competitor’
Then go through your lists again and this time, list the reasons why each person is in that group. You may realise a person in your ‘good’…
