Why I’m Even More Glad I’m Australian

I’ve been watching news about the upcoming US election, where it’s likely to be a race between the current President, Biden, against the former President, Trump. And at the moment today 8 July 2024, Joe Biden is looking a little bit shaky in his run for re-election, in my opinion, and that of many others.

The thought of Trump becoming President again is even more worrying than having an aging President with slight mind slips when he is having a debate, and doing other things, when he’s been about and about in public. Donald Trump learnt his lines and performed them well in that debate, if learning lines and performing them is all that is needed, rather than telling the truth, that is …

But for me, watching all of that from a great distance, living in a quiet little township in rural South Australia, the thought of a liar who has little care for anyone but himself, but has hoodwinked may voters and others, so they are following him, and likely to go on to vote for him? Oh I can feel the nuclear weapons warming up, and world war three getting ready to hit the entire world, even in my cosy little place of rest …
