Wow, What A Fine Haul I Snaffled Today!

When I say ‘a fine haul’ you may be imagining fine jewellery, or several meals worth of plump and promising fruit and vegetables, or something else of value in some way. The truth is many may label as rubbish and turn away from the ‘goodies’ I found yesterday that have made me so happy, but not me!

I have a project to do, and I’m committed to getting it done! And I have people helping me too, beyond the lovely ones who go walkies with me. These people listened to me talking about this and have searched their own places for bits of rusty metal things, and given such items to me!

I will put their names in that book, for sure, but for now, many thanks to Marie and Kay for the treasures handed to me for inclusion in the RUST & FOUND Art Installation! One of the items was a horse shoe that had been in Marie’s shed for no good reason at all, and the other item was a mattress spring found in Kay’s paddock.

I suppose that paddock may have once had the entire mattress dumped there, and over time, the non-metallic parts would have been victims of Nature — wind, heat, rain, over time the soft furnishing items would have disappeared, but metal remains on, and on — rusting for sure, but still there for perhaps two hundred years!

This is what I found:
