Writing About Writing, and Sharing The Joy It Gives Me!

OK, so I’m writing something here on Medium, so I’m obviously a writer. And I’m probably interested in earning some money from my writing, right? I am, for sure, yes. But I’m not delusional about it, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t make enough money here to pay my mortgage.

So it’s a good thing I’m old enough to have been able to pay out my mortgage, and my credit card debt too! That means I can do what I want — I have a pension, my husband has a pension, and we’re rich! Haha, no we’re not rich, but we are moderately comfortable.

So that means I can suit myself these days with what I do, with no need to earn any more money, unless there’s something I like to do that may bring in some dosh … Well something I like to do, that can get money, is writing, so when a writing group friend told us about this new online writing site she’d been writing for, I decided to check it out.

I’ve been blogging already for many years, on Blogspot.com first and then Wordpress.com. But those online writing platforms aren’t ones that will bring you cash if people read your posts. Medium though does, and I was definitely interested in giving it a go!

And so I did, and yes, the dosh, the moolah, the money, is arriving, that’s for sure. But the way I’m going, I’d have to live for two hundred years to earn enough to pay the mortgage for a house! I could give this writing for Medium away really, the money I’m earning is laughable really, and just stick to my blogging, but…
